Modern Slavery: A briefing for the construction industry
Modern Slavery can take many forms including the trafficking of people, forced labour, servitude and slavery. Recent statistics show that 27% of reported potential victims claimed to have experienced labour exploitation. Traffickers and illegal/unlicensed gangmasters target a range of industries including those involved in construction.
The government has released 'Modern Slavery: a briefing for the construction industry' as a guidance document to help raise awareness of the deep-rooted problem of slavery within the construction industry. Click here
