Professional background and skills
Aaron is a sustainable procurement and social sustainability specialist who has gained valuable insights from working at the cutting-edge of the agenda in both the public and private sectors.
He is currently the lead on Balfour Beatty’s sustainable procurement strategy and its award-winning supplier diversity programme as well as leading on supply chain innovation and modern slavery. Aaron was responsible for developing Balfour Beatty’s £1bn spending commitment to SMEs, which was recognised by David Cameron when prime minister and also led Balfour Beatty to become the first company in the world to be assessed against the international standard for sustainable procurement (ISO20400)
He has held senior EDI roles with the London Development Agency (LDA) at Diversity Works for London, and with Advantage West Midlands at Birmingham Professional DiverCity where he worked with blue chip organisations to help them adopt good EDI practice.
Current and longstanding member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School Operations group and also sits on the FIR Steering group. Aaron is also an active participant in the GLAA’s Construction Protocol and Chairs the WMCA Construction Skills Taskforce as well as sitting on the WMCA Skills Board.

Aaron remains a passionate supporter of the Supply Chan Sustainability School and has been involved with a number of working groups over the years as well as supporting the development of key content, speaking at events and delivering webinars to members.
