Professional background and skills
Nitesh Magdani is an architect with vast experience of designing highly sustainable buildings and engaging with key clients to assist them on their journey to deliver sustainable building strategies.
He is currently the Group Director of Sustainability at BAM where his emphasis is on proving the business case for sustainability both to internal and external stakeholders. Working on changing the emphasis of the business from doing less bad (i.e. reducing carbon/ waste), to doing more good (influencing projects to achieve longer lasting benefits for the built environment).
As an architect, Nitesh has designed, and presented thoughts on design, using natural materials with efficiency in mind, both during construction and during the operation of buildings. He is also an active supporter of the UK Green Building Council, on the Members Committee and plays an active part in various task groups over many years.
He is currently on the steering committee for the BSI Standard for Designing Out Waste, and the Circular Economy. He leads Royal BAM’s membership of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s CE100 programme, and works across the value chain to understand the impacts across the industry to move towards a circular economy. Key clients include Argent and Google (among others).

He is passionate about contributing to the running of the School to ensure it is well-positioned to act (with its Partners) to address current and future industry issues.
