What is the Supply Chain Sustainability School?

The Supply Chain Sustainability School in Africa is set up as a subsidiary of the International Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (IN-CSR) to build the much-needed capacity on global best practices in supply chain and procurement while developing strategic ways of mitigating any challenges.

The knowledge gained from the various courses will help reduce risk exposures for organisations, increase trade and investment, and make sub–Saharan Africa a more favourable destination for foreign investment especially during the present economic uncertainties.

Membership to the School will give individuals and organisations access to hundreds of learning resources and CPD-accredited contents on our website (upon launch) and sister websites in UK and Australia. The school also offers bespoke training, coaching and consultancy services as well as networking opportunities through our monthly webinars and annual conferences. The aim is to extend the boundaries of best practice in sustainability, by working with leading international partners who are recognised by their peers as leaders in their class.

Who is the School for?

The School runs on member subscriptions and allows partners to access training on ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement Certification for persons as well as specialized courses on Sustainability, Offsite, BIM, Lean and Management and offers them the opportunity to attend our webinars or in-class training and networking events, gain CPD points, complete a self-assessment and get a bespoke action plan, complete e-learning modules and access various training resources.

The School is designed specifically for businesses operating in the African continent, including those exporting or importing across the region. Initially launched in 2012 in the United Kingdom, the Supply Chain Sustainability School is a learning environment, upskilling those working in sustainability, supply chain and procurement across all sectors.

We cover the entire supply chain and procurement process with focus on 17 key topics of sustainability, as well as addressing topics in offsite, digital, procurement, lean construction and management.

Membership will give organisations access to hundreds of learning resources and CPD-accredited contents on our website (upon launch) and sister websites in UK and Australia. The school also offers CPD training and networking activities.

The School is governed by a board of nine elected Partner representatives with Shaun McCarthy OBE as the independent chair.  The Board is responsible for the fiscal governance and strategic direction of the School. When required, the Board will consult expert advisors on matters such as training, media and communications and legal services.

About IN-CSR

The Launch IN-CSR in partnership with the Supply Chain Sustainability School UK will on 14th September under the chairmanship of Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.

IN-CSR is an international team of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CS&R) Consultants and Corporate Human Rights Advocates working to promote best practices in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are registered as a non-Governmental Organisation in Nigeria (CAC No 99264), and have a network of Sustainability Consultants – Sustainable Supply Chain, Social Responsibility, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Business Continuity among others – who are industry experts in sustainability strategies – implementation and auditing, using both national and international platforms in compliance with different International Standards such International Organization for Standards (ISO), Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA), Social Accountability (SA 8000) Platforms, Banking Regulations including the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles (NSBP), Principles on Social and Environmental Risk Management and Regulatory Frameworks like the King IV Code of Corporate Governance.

We are experts in a number of other guidelines such as the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI), the G20 High Level Principles, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Guidelines, the World Bank Good Practice Guidelines, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC Guidelines), the Consumer Protection Framework, the Governance Code, and the Nigerian Stock Exchange Sustainability Disclosure Guidelines, etc. Our management audits are benchmarked on the world’s most accepted sustainability auditing platforms – SA 8000, ISO 14001, 26000, 9001, 31000, 20400 and 45001 while sustainability reports are usually based on GRI Standards except when specifically required on other platforms. We provide businesses and governmental agencies with globally certified management standards and due diligence studies including ESG, ESIA, ESMP, HSSE-IA & MP.

IN-CSR is the host of the International Conferences on Business and Human Rights and we have worked with leading organisations such as Dangote Industries Plc., the Central Bank of Nigeria, AIICO Insurance Plc., Zenith Bank Plc., Centre for International Governance and Innovation (CIGI) Canada, Green Energy International, the Federal House of Representatives Abuja, Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria (NHRC), the Government of Tanzania, among others on a wide range of sustainability projects.

Our experts have collectively completed over a hundred environmental and social due diligence projects globally, hundreds of management audits and have trained hundreds of professionals on different sustainability standards. We have also worked on key developmental projects and made several representations to the international community including the United Nations (U.N), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria on a range of environmental and social impact issues.

Eustace Onuegbu is a board level management consultant, an accredited ISO Management Systems Audit Partner, and a member of the Global Advisory Group on Business and Human Rights. He is an expert in Corporate Sustainability – Strategies and Implementation – using both national and international standards.   Eustace is a certified Management Systems Consultant – the foremost ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement Certified Lead Manager in Africa and ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Certified Senior Lead Auditor and Implementer in West Africa. He is also an ISO 14001 Environmental Management, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety, ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 31001 Risk Management, and ISO 22301 Business Continuity – Senior Lead Implementer, Facilitator and Master Auditor with the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB), Canada and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), Nigeria. He is presently serving as the President of the International Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (IN-CSR) a hybrid organisation working to promote corporate sustainability best practices in Sub–Saharan Africa while serving on the board of a number of other civil society organisations (CSOs).
