Website

Reconomy is the UK’s leading provider of outsourced waste management and recycling services.

We provide a tech-enabled, comprehensive waste and environmental management service to thousands of UK businesses across the housebuilding, construction, infrastructure and commercial sectors. This service is fulfilled by our nationwide network of over 1,000 pre-approved supply chain partners.

As a pioneer of the waste industry, Reconomy has long been a supporter of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) and holds ‘gold member’ status. Many of our customers and suppliers are also SCSS partner organisations.

Sustainability and Supply Chain

Our outsourced model affords us the unique position of being able to influence both our extensive supply chain and the many sectors that our client-base permeates. By working together with the leaders of these industries to develop more sustainable solutions to waste management, we will bring about reductions in material usage, increase the value of materials to be disposed of, and move these industries towards a more circular model of materials use.

Our approach to sustainability means that we can make a positive contribution to the UN 2030 sustainable development goals, with activity aligned with many of our customers’ agendas as well as to wider societal needs. The key strategic aim of our Sustainability Programme is to add value to our customers, suppliers and Reconomy as a company through business, environmental and social value.

Reconomy has recorded unprecedented levels of growth over the last five years and remains on course to reach £200m turnover by 2020. Because of this sustained growth, we felt the time was right to develop and expand our relationship with the SCSS.

“We firmly believe this closer relationship with the Supply Chain Sustainability School will help us to increase and embed our learning on sustainability, enabling us to positively influence the waste industry and the many other sectors we engage with. This will ensure we are all working smarter and more sustainably, with environmental consideration given to everything we set out to achieve.”
Paul Cox, Chief Executive
