The Supply Chain Sustainability School is operated by Action Sustainability Trading Limited. We take your privacy seriously and make six simple promises to you:

- We promise that when a School Partner identifies your organisation as one of their key or priority suppliers (defined as an organisation that has engaged in a business transaction with the Partner) and provides us with organisational data, we will keep this information secure. Your data will be shared with your client in a safe and secure manner.
- We promise that should you wish to update your details or unsubscribe from membership of the School, you may do so at any time.
Our privacy policy provides further details on how we use any personal information we collect when you become a member of the School. We refer to individuals who attend our training or access our online training resources as members. Membership is free of charge, and as a member, you are joining a unique collaboration of like-minded individuals and organisations, all working towards a more sustainable built environment.
What information we collect about you
We collect information about you when you register for the app, complete training activities, or voluntarily participate in surveys or provide feedback.. We may also contact you to ensure our records are accurate and check that you are satisfied with our services.
The application follows a principle of data minimisation, collecting only what is necessary for user identification and tracking learning progress.
Personal Data Collected:
- Phone number (as the primary identifier)
- First and last name
- Job role
- Preferred language (from a choice of six)
- Employer and site details
- Associated WordPress User ID
- Progress through courses, topics, modules, and quizzes
- Video viewing progress
- Achievements and certificates earned
Please note that all usage data is stored locally on the user’s device within a user-specific SQLite database.
We do not collect location data, financial or health information or user contacts, photos, or other personal media.
Access to your information and correction
We are committed to ensuring that your personal information is accurate and up to date. Within the app you can view and update your profile data like your name and job role and change language employer and site details. You can also view the information we hold about you by logging into your account.

Security Measures
The application includes several key security measures to protect user data. These include token encryption, HTTPS enforcement, JWT token management, input sanitisation and authentication to keep your data safe.
Application Permissions
The application requests a minimal set of permissions, strictly limited to core functionality. Access to the internet is required to communicate with the application’s API. In addition, camera use by the application is optional and used only to allow QR code scanning for authentication when registering for the application.
We do not use push notifications or location services and do not require access to your microphone, photo library, contacts, or calendar.
Analytics, Tracking and Compliance
Analytics are handled by Firebase in a privacy-conscious manner as an opt-out mechanism is not available for this application. The application’s data practices align with the necessary disclosures for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Data sharing and transfers
Data sharing is limited to the essential service providers required for the app to function. Data is shared with:
- WordPress Backend: User profile and progress data are shared to enable core application functionality.
- Firebase (Google): Authentication data, analytics, and crash reports are shared for essential service provision.
Your data will not be sold to third parties or shared with advertising networks, data brokers, or social media platforms.
Our relationship with funding stakeholders
We may share personal data with other organisations, particularly CITB, who use this for purposes connected with the Construction Industry Training Board’s (“CITB”) role as an Industrial Training Board in accordance with the Industrial Training Act 1982 including to analyse our School resource usage and plan funding, to understand the impact of the investment made in the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
