Professional background and skills

A career of over 30 years in Defence and Aerospace as Head of Project Management and Chief Procurement Officer at the Atomic Weapons Establishment; Commercial Director, Operations and Supply Chain Director, and Bid and Project Manager roles at Lockheed Martin. Responsibilities included strategic and people leadership of various aspects of the business including Supply Chain Management (including Sustainability), Quality Management (including regulatory compliance to ISO and other standards and legislation (eg ITAR) and Continuous Improvement), Change Management, Project Management of Military and Civil Projects (throughout the Project lifecycle). As Head of Procurement at Laing O’Rourke, leading and representing the Procurement organisation in key stakeholder strategies (eg safety, quality, digital transformation). An active Inclusion and Diversity Champion for over 20 years.

Industry influence

At Lockheed Martin, part of the MoD and Industry team which successfully won the Minister of Defence Award for Teamwork through influence and engagement across government and industry stakeholders for a ground breaking contracting model. Part of the select Industry representation which shaped the MoD Vision 2020 strategy for Military Rotary Wing Platforms.

At Laing O’Rourke, part of the Construction Leaders Procurement Group via CIPS, Company representative with BEIS/Cabinet Office procurement forums , and Be The Business (supporting SMEs)

Other relevant information

Passionate about engaging with the Supply Chain School of Sustainability. Since joining Laing O’Rourke a year ago my initial focus has been to establish myself within the business and reform the Procurement team to meet business needs during an unprecedented pandemic and Brexit. My priority is to provide leadership through the School to establish the centre of excellence with respect to developing supply chains to deliver a sustainable built environment.
