Alstom has been part of the rail industry here for over a century. One third of all daily passenger rail journeys in the UK are on an Alstom train and half of the trains on the London Underground were made by Alstom. The first ever Citadis tram was created for Dublin, Ireland.
We provide the widest range of smart solutions in the rail market, from innovative high-speed rolling stock, metros and trams to maintenance, modernisation, infrastructure and signalling.
Recent innovation:
Alstom and Eversholt Rail have unveiled the design of ‘Breeze’, a new hydrogen train for the UK market. The train will be a conversion of existing Class 321 trains, reengineering reliable rolling stock, to create a clean train for the modern age. These trains could run across the UK as early as 2022, emitting only water and no harmful emissions at all.

Sustainability and Supply Chain
With demand for global mobility on the rise, cities and countries need transport solutions that help decrease greenhouse gas emissions, congestion, pollution and improve public health for the years to come.
It is our mission to support the transition towards global sustainable transport systems that are inclusive, environmentally friendly, safe and efficient while implementing a socially responsible business model.
By joining the United Nations Global Compact initiative, which invites companies to embrace, support and enact a set of core values in the areas of human rights, employment standards, environment and ethics, Alstom is committed to the highest standards of business conduct and ethics. In addition, Alstom has implemented a sustainable development policy having Sourcing as one of its key components. Alstom therefore requires its Suppliers and Contractors to sign up to its Charter for Ethics and Sustainable Development and commit themselves to a continuous improvement approach.
Why a Partner?
Alstom UK and Ireland are partners of the Supply Chain Sustainability School to improve the sustainability knowledge of our supply chain through cross-industry collaboration. We welcome the opportunity to influence the downstream sustainability agenda by promoting and supporting school engagement.
