Cadent is the UK’s largest gas distribution network.
We manage a network of more than 80,000 miles of pipes, most of them underground – which transport gas to 11 million customers across the UK. We’re responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of energy, now and long into the future.
We’re proud to be at the heart of heat and work closely with our communities to keep them safe, warm and connected, providing extra care for those who might need it in a gas emergency. As part of this we also manage the National Gas Emergency Service telephone number on behalf of the gas industry.
We recognise that we have a significant part to play in providing a cleaner, greener and sustainable future, and we are working closely with our partners to embed sustainability in all aspects of our business. We know that thinking ahead means a brighter future for customers and for our planet.
Sustainability and Supply Chain
To achieve our sustainability ambitions, we need to bring our people and partners on the journey with us. We are working with our supply chain to drive improved performance, contribute to our sustainability goals and continue to meet our regulatory commitments.
Why a Partner?
We have become a member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School to further embed sustainability in our business and across our supply chain. Being a partner of the School will enable us to broaden our understanding (including that of our suppliers) of the impact we have on the environment. With the School’s help and the platform provided, we can build on our knowledge to meet our sustainability goals and continue our journey to net zero emissions.
