Carmichael UK is a privately owned recruitment company specialising in supplying personnel to the construction industry on a contract and permanent basis.
The company owners and directors have previous experience of working as construction personnel, share a passion for the industry and feel proud and privileged to play a part in supporting it.
Our company mission of over 20 years is to be the agency of “choice” for both candidates and clients. We understand that to be chosen we need to provide a service that delivers quality, reliability, and value.
CarmichaelUK staff share the company HIP values of honesty, integrity and professionalism. Our shared values remind us to behave ethically, to do what is right not what is easy, and to treat people as individuals.
Our “Being the best you can” message encourages all of us to strive to achieve excellence in all we do. We understand that by setting excellence as our minimum expectation we will achieve the best outcomes for our candidates, our clients, ourselves, and the communities in which we work.
We aim to place the candidate at the centre of everything we do. We work hard to build long-term relationships that focus on assisting the candidate to reach their career aspirations over time. Working in partnership with our candidates in this way helps us to understand them thoroughly and provide intelligent recruitment solutions to our clients based on knowledge and trust.
Why a Partner?
At CarmichaelUK we are always on a learning journey. Being part of the Supply Chain Sustainability School will help us to augment our knowledge, share our experiences, consult upon and agree best practice, and ultimately create a better experience for our clients, customers, staff and society.
Currently, our approach to sustainability within the construction industry is to work in partnership with clients to address the skills shortage and start to create a pool of talent that is recruited from non-traditional sources. In order to do this we are committed to enhancing our recruitment practices both internally and with our clients to ensure our recruitment practices are inclusive and remove any barriers for candidates with difference. This helps us to attract talent from a wide variety of sources.
We are actively engaged in a programme of training to ensure that as a company we are unbiased in our search and selection. By doing so we are able to offer a more diverse range of candidates who will bring new perspectives to construction. We have carried out a number of trainee-ships and have an apprenticeship scheme in operation. We work closely with the Armed Forces to promote the construction industry to ex forces personnel with transferable skills, and we work with the local communities in Newham to promote the employment of local people.
