Find out More

FIS was created to bring the supply chain together and inspire collaboration through shared activities, sector specific knowledge development, specialist events, focussed working groups and in the delivery of a variety of products and central support services targeted at helping our members.

Through our working groups and expert team we help to set standards and through our vetting process and day to day support maintain a focus on continual improvement within the sector. Core areas of focus include safety, quality, sustainability, competence and skills, risk management, productivity and innovation.

Mission: Bringing the interiors and finishes supply chain together to be a driving force for change and to set FIS members up for success.

Vision: Finishes and interiors sector centre stage in a world-class construction industry with membership and FIS guidance reflected in all relevant specifications.

Our Community

FIS has a growing community of members drawn from main and specialist contractors, manufacturers and distributors. The sector employs around 250,000 people with the key trades employed being interior systems installers (i.e. ceiling fixers, demountable and relocatable partition installers, drylining installers), plasterers, shop fitters, steel frame system (SFS) installers and carpenters and joiners.

On being accepted into the Association, all members agree to subscribe to and abide by the terms of the FIS Code of Conduct which establishes a minimum standard of conduct for members in order to raise and maintain industry standards. Members are vetted on application (for contractors this includes a physical audit of a construction site) and at regular intervals throughout their membership.
