Sustainability and Supply Chain

Ibstock is at the heart of building with a vision of enabling the construction of homes and spaces that will inspire people to work and live better. We have an ambition to be the most sustainable manufacturer of clay and concrete products in the UK, and to lead our sector in our disclosure and transparency around Environmental, Social and Governance issues (ESG). Our sustainability priorities and ambitions published as part of our Sustainability Roadmap 2025:

  • 20% sales turnover from new and sustainable products
  • 100% of our procurement spend meets supplier code
  • 15% reduction in carbon intensity
  • 5% reduction in mains water use
  • 40% reduction in virgin plastic use
  • 50% reduction in Lost Time Incident Frequency rate
  • Expand our approach to Early Careers including new apprentices
  • 100% of sites reporting on community engagement

Having substantially achieved our existing goal of a 15% reduction in CO2 per tonne of production, we developed more stretching targets to achieve a 40% reduction in absolute carbon by 2030, and a commitment to become net zero carbon operation by 2040.

Why a Partner?

We have been engaging with the school since its inception in 2012. The School provides practical support and training workshops, tailored self-assessment and action plans, bench-marking tools, networking opportunities and access to thousands of online resources. As a business this sits nicely with our business strategy and net zero carbon 2040 strategy.
