Construction IndustrialisationNew and smarter construction techniques are needed if we are to build a more profitable and sustainable industry that can deliver the significant reductions in costs, project times and CO2 emissions that are called for by the Construction 2025 Strategy.
By applying DfMA techniques and using digital data throughout the value chain we will see an increasing use of offsite manufacturing, just in time logistics and multi-skilled onsite assembly that will produce assets that are leaner, greener and more efficient
There are five key competencies to construction industrialisation, depicted by the wheel above. Design for manufacture & assembly, offsite process, logistics, onsite process followed by design of maintenance. These are all underpinned by the eight management skills that are necessary to drive change. Help can be found on the management tab.
