GAP was established by Gordon Anderson in 1969 and remains family owned and run, providing the company with the ability to focus on customer requirements, supported by fast decision making and long-term business plans. GAP is committed to reducing their environmental impact and is working towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. The company is constantly working with various stakeholders to fulfil this goal whilst also helping its customers reduce their environmental impact.

Sustainability and Supply Chain

GAP Hire Solutions is aiming to become net-zero by 2040. For several years, GAP has been taking positive action in all activities across every division to reduce its impact on the environment. A few years ago, GAP created a Green Action Plan which outlines some of the positive steps it has taken towards reducing not only its own carbon footprint, but also that of its customers. GAP has produced an Environmental & Innovative Products brochure illustrating the range of eco-friendly products it has available for hire, which will be updated as GAP introduces more environmental products into its fleet. GAP’s environmental offering is rapidly evolving, with a wider range of eco-products constantly being added to the fleet. GAP recently launched a social media campaign with the slogan “Be part of GAP’s Eco Family” accompanied by the hashtag #GAPEcoFamily to encourage customers to reduce their own environmental impacts.

Why a Partner?

At GAP, we care about the environment. On top of working to reduce our own carbon footprint, we help our customers reduce theirs too by working closely with our suppliers. In light of our aim of becoming net-zero by 2040 at the latest, GAP is constantly looking for ways to improve its sustainability activities. We believe being a member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School will greatly help GAP with these goals.
